Description

This is the high-tuned chamber of this parallel 6th order bandpass box: https://speakerboxlite.com/project-info/19910/tab-info . I've designed this as a vented box, because it will be a detachable chamber (extension) for my existing ported box: https://speakerboxlite.com/project-info/17627/tab-info .

Description

I bought an SPL meter, and I measured with it that my box peaks at / around between 51-52 Hz in my car (highest dB: 127.5). Then, I thought myself, what if I make of it a BP6 box by putting on the top of it a high-tuned chamber which is made of the same material, it have the same outer dimensions like that vented box with a port area which gives less or equal to 17 m/s vent air velocity. With this high-tuned chamber seems to be it is peaking really at 51.X Hz including cabin gain.

Description

This is a very simple closed box for this driver. This box have the biggest Vb which gives ideal RMS power handling at every frequency down to 10 Hz using both computation models (graphs: red - simple, green - complex). I know that this driver parameter wise is better suitable with vented boxes, but also this driver in this box should play every frequency at least with -2 dB in a car which have similar cabin gain like mine car's (57 Hz / 12 dB rise).

Description

The goal with this box is to have ideal RMS power handling from 20 Hz upwards + maximising the output potential (reach but not overpass Xmax at 20 Hz + higher than Fb). In real, except vent air velocity and cone exursion it behaves almost ideally by the complex model with switched off both behaviours. The vent air velocity behaves by the simple model. Cone excursion: 20 Hz = Xmax, around Fb = simple model, above Fb = reaches Xmax just at 36-37 Hz. Link for the video: https://youtu.be/0QMjViMP2Bw

Description

This box for this woofer I optimised general sounding / working - wise using just the complex computation model. The simple model I used for optimising just the vent air velocity. As you can see, this box (green) at the low end sounds almost the same like the box I designed before (red), but at the high end this box have more clear graphs. Also the woofer works almost the same at any frequency. So, for more SPL, or wind, it is not worth to build it, but it have super low F3, and it is more widerange.

Description

This box I created just from curiosity. The lowest possible F3 at a closed box with this speaker is 70.4 Hz, so I just simply found the biggest possible Vb which gived that F3. I tried to simulate it with different cabin gains (on the graph is the stock cabin gain), so as a result the reason why I share this is that in my opinion this subwoofer will be good for simple daily use in small cars for people who just only want to extend a bit the low Hzs on "normal" music. Even it is good for max power.

Description

This box I optimised for the woofer's max power (350W) using the same needs and rules for sounding and working like this box: https://speakerboxlite.com/project-info/16697/tab-info . The only problem is that if I simulate it using the complex computetion model, then the port behaviour messes up all graphs. If somebody knows that the port why behaves as it behaves at this box + woofer combination, please leave a comment to this project. Thanks in advance for the explanations.

Description

This box I simulated with 57Hz/12dB cabin gain. Firstly I found using simple model the Vb-Fb combination to reach but not overpass Xmax at 20 Hz and higher Hzs, ideal RMS power handling down to 20(19)Hz, and to have 17m/s or less max vent air velocity. The Fb was 20.3 Hz. Then using complex model (both behaviours) increased the Fb to get ideal RMS power handling again down to 20 Hz. After this with simple model adjusted the port area to get again 17 or less m/s vent air velocity.

Description

This is a compact negative ratio 4th order bandpass box for this woofer: ideal power handling (not passing over the X-max) on RMS power, acceptable group delay, 10 or less m/s vent air velocity - all at any frequency. The woofer's parameters I leaved stock (from SBL database), so I simulated the narrow bandwidth / 0 dB box, then I increased a bit the vented chamber's volume carefully to reach that power handling ability without passing over the dashed line in the group delay graph.
